Crystal Box - 3

Coiled spring steel
growing ever tighter

Each passing moment nears the point of lashing out

(Do you fear the inevitable
the rising of the sun
or the tides)

This spring (at least) won’t lash out

More care than that was placed into its construction

Guarded edges seal it away
safe from the outside
the outside safe from it

Waiting only for the right time
and purpose

and then only will it unwind.
